| 100,000 PALLETS – IT’S A RECORD! |
|
Alrewas-based, Lichfield International Freight Terminal Ltd has become the first company to send 100,000 palletised consignments through the PalletFORCE nation-wide distribution network.
A founder shareholding member of the network, Lichfield International is the closest member to PalletFORCE's central hub depot at Fradley Park and has enjoyed tremendous success. Currently handling around 1,200 loaded pallets a week, the company has grown by 30% year on year. Ron Rowe of Lichfield International said, “We are delighted to be the first PalletFORCE member to break the 100,000 pallets barrier, a great achievement which has set the seal on a very successful period for Lichfield International. PalletFORCE is quickly establishing a track record for service, reliability and flexibility which offers enormous potential for continued growth.” The 100,000th pallet was carried on behalf of customer Frank Wright Ltd, part of the global BASF Group, which supplies animal feed supplements to leading agricultural companies and also delivers direct to farmers. The pallet was collected from Frank Wright’s manufacturing site in Ashbourne, Derbyshire and transported to the network’s central hub in Lichfield for delivery to a farm in Wellington, Somerset. Frank Wright Ltd operates its own fleet of vehicles but as volumes have continued to increase the company uses the additional resources of the PalletFORCE network. Neil Ferns, Logistics Director at Frank Wright commented, "The PalletFORCE system provides a very effective way of transporting goods quickly and efficiently across the UK and also offers the flexibility of single pallet delivery through to larger part loads. We have also been impressed by the quality of distribution – service levels over the last twelve months have been excellent" |
