PalletFORCE, the overnight palletised distribution network, has launched a new improved service to the Republic of Ireland through its shareholder member Redhead International, enabling members to offer next day delivery to Dublin. Redhead International has switched their service from the conventional ferry to the later high speed crossing. The new service now means they can delay their departure from the PalletFORCE hub in Lichfield until 01:30 hrs, ship via Holyhead, arriving at their Dublin depot each day at 12 noon, for onward delivery that afternoon to the Dublin area. This upgrade in service will reduce transit times by 24 hours for goods from most areas of the UK. Redhead also continues to operate a nightly service to Northern Ireland, which leaves the hub at 00.30 hrs, arriving at their N.I. depot at 10.30 hrs, again for onward delivery that day throughout Northern Ireland. Services to the North and the Republic of Ireland have been provided by Redhead International since PalletFORCE was launched in 2001 and have consistently been improved during this time, with this latest upgrade representing a significant step forward. Phil Baxter, operations director at Redhead International said, “The new link to the Republic of Ireland will offer substantial benefits to the network, enabling all members to benefit from next day deliveries, therefore meeting customers’ needs for a quick, reliable service”. |
