| PalletFORCE SHOWCASES INVESTMENT IN IT AND CHECKWEIGHING 04/04/06 |

PalletFORCE, one of the UK’s fastest growing palletised distribution networks, will be attending the Commercial Vehicle Show after a year of significant expansion and investment.
The network’s commitment to continuous improvement in quality has been underlined by a major investment in a state-of-the-art IT system, and the installation of an advanced checkweighing system at its Lichfield hub that promises increased accuracy and safety for pallet loading. The IT system, designed by logistics specialist Trans-aXion, provides comprehensive real-time ‘track and trace’ for all of the Network’s Member Depots and their customers. Every pallet is registered with a unique identification, which customers can use to trace deliveries throughout the distribution process via the PF website. The checkweighing system, supplied by Avery Weigh-Tronix, gives PalletFORCE the capability to place pallets based on accurate weight data, for improved safety and efficiency. The Avery system is capable of delivering information within seconds, meaning that vehicle turnaround is not compromised by the weighing process. These significant investments underline another strong year for PalletFORCE, which has seen the Network nearly double its current capacity through its hub expansion and see its membership rise to 77 Shareholder Member Depots. “PalletFORCE is committed to the highest quality of service for our Sharemember Member Depots and their customers alike,” comments Mick Scarlett, Chief Executive. “The installation of the new IT and checkweighing systems enhances the Network’s ability to meet this commitment.” |
