S & J HAULAGE CELEBRATES SILVER ANNIVERSARY BY JOINING PALLETFORCE 28/2/07

Leicestershire transport company S & J Haulage has switched its palletised distribution network to PalletFORCE, in the long-term interests of the company and its customers.

S&J celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2007 and, whilst it already recognised the benefits of being part of a network from its membership with UPN, the company felt that the anniversary provided an ideal opportunity to position itself for the next quarter-century.  Amongst the factors that attracted S&J to PalletFORCE was the Network’s unique member-owned structure and its reputation for service.

“We are a great believer in shareholder networks and have been impressed with the depth and commitment of PalletFORCE’s membership,” comments Steve Haines, Managing Director of S&J Haulage.  “The Network has an excellent reputation for service and quality throughout the industry, which we feel will be a valuable asset to S&J.”

S & J Haulage has been recruited as a Shareholder Member Depot for parts of the LE postcode.  It will share responsibility for the area with existing PalletFORCE member Jempsons, as part of the Network’s programme of postcode consolidation.

Since its foundation in 1982, the company has grown to a 60-strong workforce and a fleet of 35 vehicles from its headquarters in Melton Mowbray.  The company covers the entire UK and Europe and has a particularly strong presence in the Irish marketplace.  Eight to ten trailers a night making their way to Northern and Southern Ireland, and S&J offers guaranteed next day delivery to the territories.
