Business still booming for 113-year-old Palletforce Member company
A FIFTH generation family business is still going strong after joining forces with a major new client.
R G Bassett & Sons Ltd, which was established in 1897, has signed up to provide a full logistics support operation for Jiffy Packaging Co Ltd.
The Stoke-on-Trent based haulier - a member of Palletforce, the UK’s leading palletised distribution network - will work with Jiffy to enhance its UK distribution service and ensure efficient and prompt delivery of Jiffy products.
As part of the new contract arrangements with Jiffy, Bassetts has invested in eight new trailers, which have the Jiffy livery applied to the back doors.
Laurence Bassett, Operations Director of R G Bassett & Sons Ltd, said: “We are proud to be servicing Jiffy’s transport requirements, and to promote our working relationship with the addition of Jiffy’s livery to our new high-cube trailers.”
The company, which currently operates a fleet of 35 Heavy Goods Vehicles and 80 trailers, also provides warehousing and driver training services to clients throughout the UK.

Jiffy Packaging Company Limited, based in Winsford, Cheshire, is part of the Pregis Corporation, a worldwide packaging supplier, and offers protective packaging solutions to markets across Europe.
