Palletforce, the member owned network, hits 16 million pallets milestone
PALLETFORCE has achieved a new milestone in its history with the distribution of its 16th million pallet.
On November 15, the UK’s leading palletised distribution network reached the landmark figure 11 years after the first pallet was handled in August 2001.
It is the latest in a long line of accomplishments for the network this year, including investment in Alliance ePOD across the whole network, the inception of its direct Italian service and the development of its ‘live tracking’ mobile iPhone app.
Palletforce was also Highly Commended at the Global Freight Awards and IFW Awards, as well as shortlisted for two Motor Transport Awards and a St John Ambulance Awards.
“This is a very proud moment for Palletforce and a credit to the consistent efforts of our members and staff to provide a quality service that retains customers and wins new business,” said Michael Conroy, Chief Executive of Palletforce.
“I am sure there will be many more proud moments to come as Palletforce continues growing stronger, developing further innovations and expanding its routes and services.”
Palletforce is among leading lights recognised at industry awards
PALLETFORCE, the UK’s leading palletised distribution network, has been Highly Commended in an awards ceremony that honours logistics leading lights.
The member-owned network was Highly Commended in the Employer of the Year category at the Global Freight Awards on Wednesday, November 21.
Palletforce was recognised for its dedication to the development of its employees to their full potential.
This has included establishing its own Fork Lift Truck Driving Apprenticeship Academy and becoming the first pallet network to achieve the Investors In People standard and RoSPA gold accolade.
“We are so proud of everything that Palletforce has achieved so far – none of which could have been possible without our hard working staff,” said Michael Conroy, Chief Executive of Palletforce.
“At Palletforce there is a deeply embedded culture of striving to be the best and just as our staff are committed to this ethos and the success of the network we are committed to supporting them to unlock their talents and fulfil their ambitions.
“This commendation is fantastic and an acknowledgement of the efforts of every single person working together at Palletforce.”
Palletforce’s European expansion
PALLETFORCE has launched a new direct Italian service after appointing Italy’s leading pallet network One Express as its strategic partner.
This major tie-up between Palletforce and One Express, based in Bologna, went live on November 1 and offers a combined network of 174 depots handling some 4 million pallets.
It is the first direct network-to-network collaboration in Europe for Palletforce and by bringing two leading like-minded networks together it sets the industry standard for European services.
“This new partnership follows the blueprint for our European strategy of aligning ourselves to country leading pallet networks to create a significant European footprint,” said Michael Conroy, Chief Executive of Palletforce.
“Our members are able to access the same services as their UK offering through Palletforce’s existing IT platform Alliance, allowing them to take advantage of the expansion opportunities in Europe.
“We specifically selected One Express as our Italian partners as they share the same values and operate in a similar way to Palletforce, offering a quality and value service for all, and we are excited at this new direction we are heading in together.”
The new Italian service from Palletforce includes day definite delivery and daily direct departures.
Earlier this year Palletforce, the network that is owned by its members, appointed a new European Development Director, John Mckail, to enhance its European coverage.
