Facilities Cleaning Assistant

Reporting directly to the Facilities Coordinator, the main purpose of the Facilities Assistant role will be to provide a safe site which employees will be proud of and to ensure that the main responsibilities and duties stated below are undertaken accurately and in a timely and efficient manner.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Act in a professional manner at all times, in line with the company’s core values.
  • To follow instruction given by line management.
  •  To show a good attendance and punctuality.
  • To maintain a high level of cleanliness in and around the hub as set out in the schedule of works.
  • Strict keeping of records in relation to COSHH and all cleaning schedules.
  • To check and report any issues of damage as found to your line manager.
  • To aid your line manager in legal compliance related work.
  • To conduct all works required on your work schedule.
  • To ensure that you thoroughly check all site access equipment in line with schedules
  • Ensure that environmental and efficiency performance requirements are followed. All waste is to be segregated, no hazardous waste is to be put with general waste, lights are to be turned off when not in use and emissions from forklift trucks are to be reduced by turning equipment off when no in use.
  • Any other ad hoc duties as required by your Line Manager or Facilities Manager.
  • To carry out all your duties and responsibilities with reasonable care for your own health & safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work.
  • To co-operate fully with Palletforce LTD in matters of health & safety.

Other Requirements:

It is important that the job holder presents themselves in a polite and professional manner when patrolling sites and visiting offices.

 Main Tasks:

This list is not exhaustive and other duties as reasonably requested may be included into schedule. All items include building 1 & 2.

  • Starting time 08:00 – 16:30 Monday to Friday. Saturday working 1x ½ day per month. Some flexibility will be required when covering holidays or during busy or seasonal times.
  • Monitor and segregate waste by following a preparation schedule.
  • Scrape all lanes with mechanical equipment in order off set schedule.
  • Empty small tip skips as and when required periodically throughout the day.
  • Reporting of any issues back to line supervisor.
    • Skips full
    • Pallets required
    • Damage to site
  • Tidy skip and pallet area daily.
  • Assist Academy in clearing waste pile daily.
  • Assist line manager in completing weekly checks.
  • Assist in completing daily reporting for FLT defects in absence of line supervisor.
  • Assist in daily upkeep by cleaning/painting of work equipment
  • Seasonal work to include gritting site.
  • Assist in completing deep cleaning schedules when required.
