Continuing to promote the Palletforce brand across Europe, two of the company\u2019s motorsport ambassadors scored podiums on two very different sporting events last weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
British rally star David Bogie won all five stages of the Galloway Hills Rally in Scotland to clinch a 51-second overall win \u2013 on his first outing in a new Skoda Fabia R5 rally car. He stormed through the fast, flowing Galloway forests in southern Scotland to dominate the rally from start to finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The final round of the 2018 Scottish Rally Championship, he swept aside championship regulars setting unbeatable times on the challenging gravel roads and forest drives. The result was the perfect preparation for the final round of the British Championship, where Bogie is a contender for the coveted title. Based outside Chester, it takes place on 5-7 October and doubles as the UK\u2019s round of the FIA World Rally Championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, before then Bogie will be meeting Palletforce members and their guests at the annual Rallyday event at Castle Combe circuit on 22 September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
David Bogie said: \u201cIt was great to take the win. I\u2019ve been driving on Tarmac rallies for a while now so I wanted to get back into the mode of gravel driving before Rally GB and that worked really well. The new car felt fantastic, with more engine torque, and that really helped on these stages this weekend. The roads through the Galloway Forest are fantastic to drive, real classic rally stages for this area.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile on two wheels, Palletforce-backed rider Billy Bolt was third at the Red Bull 111 Megawatt in Poland, round five of the World Enduro Super Series. The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing rider performed excellently when, after a busy day of qualification on Saturday, the 500 fastest riders in this year\u2019s Red Bull 111 Megawatt took to the start line in Europe\u2019s largest coal mine for Sunday\u2019s feature race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Faced with a demanding and physical 30-kilometre course that weaved its way around the quarry, the addition of hot weather and dusty tracks ensured a gruelling three-lap race for the world\u2019s best Enduro riders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sherco Factory Racing\u2019s Wade Young claimed victory with local hero Taddy Blazusiak second and Bolt just seven seconds behind taking the final podium spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Billy Bolt said: \u201cI\u2019m really pleased with finishing on the podium. This was the race that I was least pleased with my performance in during 2017, so to turn things around and finish third is great. I had a poor first lap \u2013 I crashed three times on the Motocross section. It seemed to me like that section of the track was different to what we rode on during the qualification. I felt good going into the last lap. We\u2019ve got three tough races left, but this has definitely been good for me as far as the championship is concerned.
