The Palletforce SuperHub, a \u00a350 million world-class vision to secure the future growth of the UK\u2019s leading express pallet network, is now a reality after being unveiled today (Monday 14 August). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The investment at the company\u2019s central site at Burton upon Trent is the start of a new era for Palletforce, with the 620,000 sq ft bespoke facility reinforcing its position as leader of the express distribution sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The only custom-built centre of its type, the SuperHub places Palletforce\u2019s facilities way ahead of the competition. It provides the premier platform to facilitate growth, ensure the future success of its membership and network, and provides long-term stability in uncertain times. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The SuperHub is the largest drive-through distribution centre in Europe and will create the capacity needed to enable growth of member companies. In addition to first-class warehousing, the 38-acre site has 450 truck parking spaces, while single-shift sortation allows for faster turnaround and creates extended delivery windows for member collection and delivery vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The additional capacity will fuel future growth, helping to create around 70 new jobs within Palletforce and an estimated 700 across the Palletforce membership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since its acquisition by EmergeVest in 2015, Palletforce has invested over \u00a365 million across its network \u2013 in infrastructure, technology, acquisitions and people. The SuperHub, by far the largest chunk of that investment, has the capacity to handle over 30,000 pallets per night at the UK\u2019s optimum overnight distribution location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to benefitting from the latest technology and software, helping to drive efficiency even further, the new building has enhanced environmental features. Rainwater will be harvested for external taps and toilet flushing, all lighting will be automatically switched LED and the SuperHub will offer electric car charging points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
