It was an awards night like no other as EV Cargo’s Palletforce staged its belated annual Gala Awards ceremony.

The event – the jewel in the crown of the Palletforce calendar – recognises members who have delivered excellence in service and performance over the last 12 months.

Normally taking place with a glitzy celebration of over 450 members and guests in London, this year the event was held virtually, with members tuning in online to find out if they were winners.

The highest accolade of the evening, the Chairman’s Award 100% Club, was won by five different members, each having delivered unrivalled service excellence and a 100% delivery performance record. Inducted into the club were Evans Transport, Katem Logistics, Sureway Express Transport, Baynes & Son, and Q Delivery Services.

It was also a special night for West Yorkshire’s Viamaster who were voted Depot of the Year, picking up the prestigious Alan O’Leary Award for the second year running, while Star Transport from Thetford won the Member Services Committee Award.

It proved to be a great night for Wyvern Cargo, who were named New Member of the Year from an 11-strong shortlist. The Dorset-based firm, who joined Palletforce last November, have brought 40 years of experience to the network and were judged to have embraced the ethos of quality from the outset.

Other winners included Mitchell Storage & Distribution, who were not only presented with the Sales and Marketing Award but were included among this year’s Networkers and Brand Ambassadors of the Year alongside C&D Southwest, Farrall’s Group, Campeys of Selby, Willmotts Transport, Griffins Logistics, H B Holt & Sons, Panic, Onpoint Logistics, Hicks Transport and Abacus Transport.

Griffins Logistics also picked up the European Export Sales Award, while H B Holt & Sons were named winners of the Health and Safety in Operations Category.

Michael Conroy, Palletforce chief executive, said: “This year, more than ever, we wanted to recognise the huge efforts of our members, in the face of unprecedented challenges, to maintain the highest levels of customer service even while delivering record freight volumes.

“Palletforce is a very social network and the Gala Awards are the highlight of the year, so we were determined to make sure they went ahead. Holding the event was certainly a unique experience, but it was a triumph nevertheless.

“My congratulations to all the winners, and I look forward to seeing them all in person soon.”
